My Goal

My goal for this challenge is to get back to eating healthier and also to get back into exercising on a daily basics. In order for me to do this I must:

  1. Start eating 3 meals a day instead of snacks whenever I get a chance
  2. Get into the habit of exercising on a daily basics
  3. Drink plenty of water on a daily basics
  4. Adjust by schedule so I am not overworking myself
  5. Stay away from red bulls, sodas and candy
  6. Get a gym membership or a personal trainer
Once I accomplish everything on the list I feel I will have accomplished my goal.

Day 4

Day 4 Diet intake was not the best either. But like I said I am giving myself until Sunday to get it together. Hopefully, I will be able to fit in three healthy meals a day instead of random snacks throughout the day. The walking and drinking water is going good I just have to get everything else in place.

Day four intake:

  • 16 oz red bull
  • smart water
  • 12 oz Gatorade
  • club crackers
  • chicken Vienna sausages
  • cranberry juice
  • cracker jacks

Obstacles That Hinder Me

Everyone has obstacles that sometimes slow them down from getting the things accomplished that they would hope to. When it comes to getting enough exercise and eating healthier my three main obstacles that slow me down are:

  1. School
  2. Children
  3. Work
Those are my 3 main obstacles because those 3 things take up a lot of my time on a daily basics. I do online classes, freelance writing and have to take care of two young ones. This can make it quite impossible to get anything else accomplished. So, far I have been able to manage working in exercising (walking daily) but it is hard to make sure I eat properly. Usually, I just have little snacks here and their throughout the day. I am hoping as time goes on things will get better.

I know there are some others who also have to balance things out as well. So, I am open to any suggestions and advice.

Day 3

Day 3 was a little more eventful for me. I went to Walmart so I got a ton of walking in before my walk for the evening. Also, I had to go to Walgreen which resulted in more walking for a while since they had switched the whole store.

As far as my food and drink intake. Here is a list of what I managed to be able to get in today while I worked. Also, on Sunday I hope to be drinking strictly water even though it doesn't seem like i am making much progress today.

  • 3 8.4. oz red bulls
  • 4 glasses of cool aid
  • smart water
  • bowl of fruit
  • 2 hot dogs
  • club crackers
  • 12 oz Gatorade

Why I Am Taking This Challenge

For me this challenge could not have come at a better time. I have just had a baby so I am trying to get the baby fat off. Also, in general I know that I am not the healthiest person. So, this challenge is giving me the opportunity to really see what I am eating and drinking so I can adjust my diet appropriately. The reason for me taking this challenge is because I know I need to exercise more. It may be hard now that it is two kids, school and work but these evening walks and drinking more water have really gotten me feeling better already. I am hoping that by the beginning of next week I will just be drinking strictly water so I can improve my skin again. There are just so many positive things that come from me taking this challenge. When the challenge is over I hope to have established a healthier life style again and be able to stick to it.

Day 2

Day 2 of the challenge was something else. The morning started off good only for me to find out that my charger would no longer charge my battery and that my insurance through Best Buy expired 2 days prior. Luckily, I have a backup laptop that I can use until I can buy a new main one but the day was just a total mess all around it seems. But, on to brighter news about the challenge:

Drinks: 2 glasses of cool aid, 2 8.4 oz red bulls, smart water
Food: apple slices, strawberries, chicken Vienna sausages, club crackers
Activity: walked for 20 minutes, walking around Best Buy

Day 2 was a stressful day however I am sure Day 3's eating and drinking habits will look a lot better. Well, at least I hope.

Day 1

Day 1 of the Challenge went great. I had already started drinking more water so it was not very hard to make that change. Also, the walking was good to. I had done some walking last week but had not stuck with it so now since walking is one of our daily task it seems like I can make it part of my daily routine. However, because Day 1 was so easy I can imagine that Day 2 will be a little harder. But, this is something that I have been looking forward to so I am eager to complete it successfully.

For everyone who is participating in the challenge I wish you the best of luck and I hope you are enjoying it as well.
